In my experience, I tried doing a bronze dragon task (my first one actually, a few weeks ago) with Iban's staff and I was splashing like crazy, like 80% of my casts were splashes. Then I switched to a rune crossbow with mithril bolts and I started to get some actual hits in (still took forever but it was much more manageable).When cast using the Slayer's staff (e), the projectile changes from a green color to white. A Magic level of 50 and a Slayer level of 55 are both required to cast this spell, and it requires 1 Death rune, and 4 Mind runes to cast. The damage of this spell follows a unique formula.

Nope, the base spellbook is just pretty shitty all around for combat compared to ibans, the only exceptions really being high lv magic using slayer dart with an enchanted slayer staff which can hit considerably higher, or high leveled fire spells with tome of fire, ibans is literally just crazy op as a spell at such a low level for no reason, usually it's ibans, powered staves, and ancients ...In melee combat, the Slayer's staff is the most powerful (in damage/minute) weapon for level 1 in Attack, so it is a popular choice for obsidian maul pures -in-training (if they have 55 Slayer and 50 Magic). The DPS is slightly lower, but a huge advantage is that Slayer Staff (e) gives base magic XP per cast in addition to XP for damage done. Trident just gives 2 XP per damage done.
